Could Vermaelen Join Barca?

Barcelona have recently added Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen to their transfer wish-list but no official approaches or talks have been initiated yet.

Vermaelen’s agent coy over Barcelona move

Barcelona have lately been linked with Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen. The belgian on the other hand has insisted that he will remain at Arsenal for the rest of his career.

This claim was put to dispute after Barcelona veteran defender Carles Puyol and Vermaelen were seen together in a restaurant in Ibiza. This meet has been said to pace up the possible move to the Blaugrana. A Spanish newspaper ran the snap of those two together in that restaurant which may have been the cause of the word spreading around.

This news will certainly drive Arsenal fans to despair as they are already dreading the sale of their ace Robin van Persie.

However, Vermaelen’s agent Kees Vos told the newspaper: “It is just two world class defenders in the same restaurant.”

Vermaelen is not the only one the Catalan giants are hunting as they seem desperate to land a defender soon.

Are Arsenal to lose out on Vermaelen?

You’re an idiot. Just because they have a picture together does not mean he is leaving for Barcelona. Never fails to amaze me how far some blogs go to wind fans up..

He stated many times he wants to remain at Arsenal for the remainder of his playing career, why leave two months after coming out with that statement? Use your minute brain cells to gather a logical opinion on the matter.
