Chelsea have been linked very strongly with Shaktar Donetsk midfielder Willian, and Genk attacker Kevin de Bruyne during the ongoing January transfer window, but manager Andre Villas-Boas does not see either make the move to Stamford Bridge, yet !

Both players has a buy-out clause in their contracts with their respective clubs, and the Blues were rumored to have made official enquiries for both, and lodged initial bids. But as Villas-Boas described, the prices in January are inflated, and a trap a must not tempt into.

In an interview to a local weekly, the Portuguese boss said, “Willian is an extremely interesting player but I don’t think we will progress with our interest because of different issues, from work permit to price valuation.

“I think our project next year is more important than the actual project at the moment. Not that Willian doesn’t have the characteristics for the future but we are betting a lot on what we can build on for next year.”

Regarding de Bruyne, this is what he had to say, “Kevin is a player that is not within my immediate projects.

“He’s a player that the club has scouted for quite some time and was interested in for quite some time.

“I think Kevin is an extremely interesting player and I think it’s a good bet eventually if the club finishes the situation.”

It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal can pounce on this opportunity and make an attempt to sign either Willian, who has been watched closely by manager Arsene Wenger.
