Manchester United ace Nani faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines if his injury turns out to be worse than expected.Manchester United midfielder fitness in doubt

The midfielder may be out for up to an estimated 8 weeks if the injury he sustained during Manchester United’s match against Arsenal turns out to involve ankle ligaments. Further diagnostic testing would take slightly more time, as the winger’s right foot was highly inflamed. His absence from Sir Alex Ferguson’s side may cause problems for United’s title challenge, as neighbors Manchester City hold on to a 3-point advantage at the top of the Premier League.

Ferguson, however, will be pleased to hear that several key players are making their return from injury, which might help ease the possible loss of Nani. England winger Ashley Young has returned from the injury table, and is an ideal replacement for Nani at the wing, and Phil Jones, who was also injured during the Arsenal tie, has been cleared fit to play for the side, as his injury is not as worse as expected.
