Mourinho Gives Sahin’s Arsenal Move Green LightAugust 7 | Posted by C.M. | > Transfers, English Premier League highlights, Spain League 1 highlights
As Real Madrid’s Nuri Sahin edges closer to a move to English giants Arsenal on a season-long loan deal, the young Turkish has been given his manager Jose Mourinho’s blessings, who is happy to see the midfielder go and gain some much valuable playing time.
After joining the Galacticos last season from German champions Borussia Dortmund, Sahin has been starved of game time as he played a minimal role in Madrid’s march to the league title. With the playmaker’s place destined to be on the bench for the coming season again, it was the wisest choice to loan him out to a top European club where he can get some valuable game time.
Arsenal too are looking for a playmaker after Jack Wilshere’s return to action was delayed until October. As the Gunners close in on Santi Cazorla, they are looking at Nuri Sahin too to further bolster their midfield. It looks like this loan deal will benefit Arsenal, Madrid and Sahin himself.
Speaking to the media, Mourinho said, “The point is, he’s a young boy, he wants to play every match,
And in Real Madrid with Xabi Alonso, with [Sami] Khedira, with Lassana [Diarra], [Esteban] Granero, [Mesut] Ozil, the situation is not easy.
Real Madrid is very difficult. It is not an easy club, because we demand a lot. We have great players, and when you don’t start well, it is difficult to do it.
If he stays, he’s not a problem for me, he’s one more solution. We leave [the situation] in his hands. Be happy.
Decide what you want to decide, to be happy. If you decide to leave we are going to help you to leave. If you decide to stay, we are going to support you and try to succeed this season.”
