Spanish international Santi Cazorla is on the verge of joining English giants Arsenal, after the midfielder flew down to London and passed a medical, reports suggest.
English giants Arsenal are close to making their third summer acquisition in the form of Spanish international Santi Cazorla from La Liga outfit Malaga. The attacking midfielder will soon join the Gunners and become the most expensive player in their history for a transfer fee thought to be in the region of £17 million, surpassing the previous record of roughly £14 million which Arsenal paid Zenit St. Pettesburg for Russian winger Andrei Arshavin back in 2009.
Strong reports suggest that the World Cup 2008 and Euro 2012 winner has already passed a medical in London and has agreed a four-year deal with weekly wages of around £70,000. He has also apparently met his new team-mates and is due to fly with his Arsenal to Germany for a pre-season friendly where he will join fellow new signings Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud.
The capture of Cazorla is music to the ears of the Gunners faithful who were facing uncertainty in the creative midfield department ahead of the new season, as young Englishman Jack Wilshere’s return to the squad is delayed by a further couple of months to October, and Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky too is set to miss the first few league fixtures due to injury.
Though Arsenal have not officially announced the signing, many expect them to do the same this week.

Santi & Nuri will add strenght to the squad. We can challenge for title this season bcos we already have Podi & Olivier in the armoury squad.
Spain won the World cup in 2010 not 2008
Never mind the mistake in the World cup record as stated in the blog. The striking points are that Santiago. Cazorla is a great creative midfielder, a World cup winning medalist, a Eoro-2012 winning squad member, a World-class player and more importantly, now an Arsenal-player. Bravo.
Mind u he has nt won the world Cup before!!!
He has! He was part of the squad that won it back in 2010!
well done wenger u re doing well i konw at end dis season we must get somtin
