United To Face Serious Competition In Pursuit Of Benfica Ace

Portugese club Benfica’s star midfielder Javi Garcia is subject of immense speculation linking him to a move away, and his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon has revealed that there are many clubs interested in his client, and that there will be a tussle between several European heavyweights in the summer for the Spaniard’s signature.
Garcia made the move to Benfica from Real Madrid in 2009, and has found back his touch in Portugal. He is one of the hottest properties currently in the market, and a prime target for several top clubs. According to his agent Quilon, among others, English sides Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal & Liverpool are keen on the 25-year old, who has a buy-out clause of €30million (£25.1 million) attached to his contract.
In an interview, Quilon told O JOGO, “There are not and there have never been any concrete offers,”
“But I can tell you that there are several clubs following him very carefully, especially two Premier League clubs. Then there is also one Bundesliga and one Serie club.
“But the player is calm and is now only focused on his work with Benfica and to win titles.”
