Arsene Wenger says Arsenal are entering the crucial weeks of the season and talks about English clubs’ unsuccessful European campaign Wenger: Crisis is at the door

Arsenal and Chelsea are the only Premier League clubs left in UEFA Champions League. With Chelsea already plunged in crisis, and Manchester clubs out of the rivalry, Gunners might be the only hope left for English football in the key European competition.

However, the Gunners have also had spells of poor form this season and Arsene Wenger is aware they need to try hard to avoid another losing spell. The next few games will prove crucial for the team’s campaign success but it will not be easy:

“You could say that the crisis at the moment in England is a bit like fire. It moves very quickly from one club to another,” said the Gunners’ boss.

“It’s a fire with strong wind so you have to be a bit cautious because it can quickly come back. The wind can blow it quickly back.”

“This is the important time for us. Before the week started, I said that this week would be vital for us. It’s down to us to do well and hopefully we will do it.”

The clash with AC Milan was the first test to Wenger and his players. They are facing Sunderlandin the FA Cup duel on Saturday 18th and Tottenham, currently above Gunners in the Premier League, on Sunday 27th.
